The Trial Of Val Sedgwick

Shortly after February 14th, Sheriff Vivian of Avalon arrested Val and brought him before Soren, Queen of Tarn. Queen Soren acts as judge! Wiseacre Sandra asks Soren, "What's this all about? You wearing a crown, and all."

"They've asked me to judge a Court of Love. And you - You will never 'borrow' my riding cape again." She takes it VERY seriously!

"Sheriff, bring in the prisoner."

Val in chains! Soren looks up. "So, the notorious Val Sedgwick. And in chains. How fitting."

"Who are you?" he asks. "And where does Miss Boots over there get off arresting me? I haven't done anything." Val seems perplexed. Soren frowns.  "Precisely the charge Sedgwick - On your knees. Sheriff, did he put up a struggle?"

"Not so much.  Nowhere near his reputation." Judgment is at hand! Soren turns.  "Look you Sedgwick, the aggrieved Lady Ryder arrives. How plead you?"

"I... I..."

"Missing St. Valentine's Day! GUILTY OF NEGLECT! - The Cauldron of Discontent, Sheriff." Val is forced forward...

"Hey! Something's crawling in there!"

Val seems perplexed.

"Don't be such a wuss, Val."

Soren clears her throat.  "He's trying to weasel out. It's just sand... with a little itching powder."

Ryder thinks this is wonderful!

"C'mon. Show them you're a man, Val...."

Ugh. Gross.

"Cough! Choke! - ARRRRGHMPHMPHHH!"
She's TOO soft-hearted.
"There now. Learned your lesson?"
Val is temporarily subdued... Vivian hands Ryder the chain.  "He's all yours. Two short yanks usually gets his attention... "

Val is not entirely unhappy-looking... The sheriff whispers to Deputy Melissa, "I think she's the one in trouble, now."
